What Are Non-Enrollment Groups

Updated on

Non-Enrollment Groups are sometimes referred to as generic Groups. The purpose of Non-Enrollment Groups is to give Administration the option to include All Users of a type in an Event/Course.

For example, if you include the Student Group in an Event's Group list, then All Students in Leo, whether they are enrolled in that Course or not, will be able to view and access that Event. The same rule applies to the Faculty and Staff Groups as well.

The following Groups are non-enrollment Groups:

Faculty: Consists of All Users in Leo that are marked as Faculty.

Staff: Consists of All Users in Leo that are marked as Staff.

Students: Consists of All Users in Leo that are marked as Students.

Therefore, if you do NOT want ALL Students, Staff, or Faculty in Leo, to be able to access and view an Event or Course, do not include that generic Group in the Groups list.

NOTE: Since these are system-level Groups that are used for generating data for reports, the Group names should NOT be modified.
